Autumn at The Artisan Founder
AN EDITOR’S LETTER – 22 September 2025
The season has turned, and with it comes the gentle rhythm of gathering. The mornings are cooler now, and the scent of wood smoke lingers in the air. Under the walnut tree, the harvest has begun, my basket slowly filling with what has quietly ripened through the summer months. Autumn always brings that reassuring reminder to slow down, to savour, and to store away the things that will see us through the darker months.
This season at The Artisan Founder feels much the same, a time of gathering and preparing.
Our very first Artisan Founder awards brought an unexpected and heartening response. The nominations and votes that came in carried such depth and meaning, and I look forward to sharing the winners’ stories with you in our upcoming Winter newspaper. Behind the scenes, much of our focus has been there, shaping this next step for our community and finding ways to bring their stories to life in print. It feels like a season of both reflection and momentum.
Alongside this, our Journal continues to grow with new founder stories and we’re picking up the pace of beautiful products in our Directory, each one a reminder of why this space exists.
Our Book Club has settled into its place on the homepage, and I hope the seasonal reads have offered you the same sense of grounding they bring me.
And, as always, our weekly newsletter is where the threads of it all come together for those who enjoy a weekly moment to slow down. It is a slower, more personal space for sharing the small seasonal details and simple pleasures that shape the weeks. It is a joy to send these out and to know they are received with such warmth.
