Makers featured in The Artisan Founder are selected editorially. We look for founder-led businesses where care is evident in the making, sourcing, or creative direction of the work, and where products are presented with clarity and intention.
Inclusion is not application-led. Businesses may be discovered through research, recommendation, or editorial review, and are selected because their work aligns with the values and focus of the publication.
Being featured does not require payment. Optional enhancements are available to businesses who wish to extend their presence within the Directory.
Editorial FEATUREs
We welcome founder stories, brand suggestions and product news from artisan brands and PR representatives.
You are invited to share press releases or story ideas for consideration in our Journal and are welcome to pitch an idea before submitting a full piece.
All submissions are reviewed editorially and inclusion is not guaranteed, but we value being introduced to thoughtful work and new stories.
Is it free to be featured?
Yes. Editorial features on The Artisan Founder are free press coverage.
We created our publication to celebrate founder-led artisan businesses who have mastered their craft, and to help readers discover thoughtful, well-made products.
Can any business be featured?
We feature high-quality artisan brands whose work aligns with our values of craftsmanship, considered design and small-batch making.
Brands must have their own websites where we can direct readers to buy directly.
I am a small/new business, is that OK?
Yes we feature both established and new, large and small artisan brands, with products across a broad range of price points.
Do you take commission or sell products?
No. We do not take commission from artisan brands or sell artisan products. We simply send readers to shop directly with artisan brands.
All links from The Artisan Founder lead directly to featured artisan brand’s websites, allowing readers to support independent businesses in the most direct way possible.
Can I pay to be included?
No, all brands are featured on an editorial basis, selected by our editor.
Optional enhancements are available to featured brands who wish to extend their presence within the Brand Directory.
How are makers added to the Directory?
This may happen after an editorial feature, a product submission, or when a brand comes to our attention through our research and curation. We list brands we believe our readers would genuinely enjoy discovering.

Can I send in a press release?
