Artisan Hot Chocolate for Autumn Evenings
Exceptional artisan hot chocolate to enjoy this season.
Soft, familiar, and made to last a lifetime, a good wool throw does more than warm the body, it anchors a room. Whether draped over a favourite chair or folded at the foot of the bed, a throw invites you to wrap up and stay cosy through the colder months.
I keep telling myself you can never have too many wool throws. Two sit in a basket by the fireside chair, and another is folded over each arm of the sofas all ready to wrap us up in an instant. It’s indulgent, of course, but I can’t see my love of finding space for a new throw fading any time soon.
The throws in this collection have been woven with care by independent makers who understand the value of texture and time. If you’re going to buy one, make it an artisan-made masterpiece.
This British wool blanket in a traditional herringbone twill, is crafted with undyed natural dark brown yarn and inspired by the rich earthy tones of peat.
Handwoven in Cornwall on an in-house designed Dobby loom, it is a stunning example of the art of weaving and a true heirloom throw.
Poppy red, pink and seafoam green combine in various combinations of pattern, throughout this boldly striped throw. Such pretty patterns and colour combinations can be found in a Wallace Sewell throw.
Contrasting woven structures create an intricately patterned throw woven in Shetland wool, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
Laura’s second edition of her popular Rawthey Wool Blanket introduces some new subtle colours against a warm natural brown base. My favourite is the Damson pictured top, above Leaf and Moss.
Crafted from 100% British wool in the Scottish borders.
The beautifully crafted throw is designed and woven in Wales, and I think the colours and design would add a subtle cosy artisan touch to a coastal interior space.
Inspired by the west Wales coastline and the heavy rainfall which sees that the Rheidol river has the largest watershed in Wales. Small flecks of light offer contrast to the dark backdrop.
The contemporary tree motif is complemented by beautiful evocative colours in this versatile wool throw. This would work with so many interior colour schemes and add a bold artisan vibe to your space.
Crafted from 100% pure new wool, it is warm, hardwearing and easy to care for.
Lochcarron of Scotland started weaving tartan at North Strome, Lochcarron in the late 1940s and since then have woven tartan at Lochcarron of Scotland for Clans and families where Scots people settle throughout the world.
I love this bold pink design, perfect for layering and adding warmth to your interior.
